Hours: 9.30am to 3.30pm

Step back in time and immerse yourself in the life of Australia's aviation history. You will have the opportunity to view some of the most amazing historic aircraft. The HARS staff are always keen to share their passion for historical aircraft and are on hand to answer any questions. They are sure to provide you with an insight into the glory days when these aircraft ruled the skies.

On display at the hangar they have the world famous "Connie" Lockhead Super Constellation. The airliner of the 1950's that conquered the world. Get close up and personal with two Neptune Bombers. Have your photo taken with "Felix" who proudly represents the Black Cat Catalina Squadron of the RAAF. Venture into the huge hangars to see the flying troop carriers of World War 2, the C47 Dakota.

The HARS volunteers are currently working on the restoration of a replica of the "Southern Cross". The "Southern Cross" was piloted by Sir Charles Kingsford Smith in 1928 making the first non-stop flight across the Australian continent and the first non-stop trans Tasman flight to New Zealand. The original "Southern Cross" is housed at the Brisbane Airport International Terminal in a climate controlled glass room of the Kingsford Smith Memorial hangar.
