Standard Garden and Deluxe Mountain View rooms offer private facilities, television and air-conditioning. An outdoor swimming pool with mountain views, courtyard, extensive native gardens and outside dining area.

Event and conference facilities with stunning mountain views cater for small to large groups from 30 to 100 delegates.

The Mount Sturgeon property, located just five minutes from the hotel site offers alternative accommodation in fully restored 1840s bluestone cottages, ideal for a romantic getaway or quiet retreat. The working sheep station offers open fireplaces, marked walking trails and magnificent mountain views.

The Mount Sturgeon property is also home to the exclusive Mount Sturgeon Homestead, a six bedroom colonial homestead offering period furnishings and fittings, including kitchen, formal dining and sitting rooms and library. A secluded location surrounded by manicured lawns to the Wannon River, uninterrupted mountain views with walking trails leading into the Grampians National Park.

Complimentary transfers from the Mount Sturgeon property are offered for diners and guests have full access to hotel facilities.

Hotel activities include regular guided tours of the Royal Mail cellar, native gardens and native animal enclosures which house spotted quolls, and sugar gliders.

Walking maps are provided which detail eight marked walking trails leading from the hotel and many native animals such as emus, kangaroos and wallabies can be seen on the trails.

Located 260 kilometres west of Melbourne on the Glenelg Highway, a scenic three hour drive. From Melbourne travel on the Western Highway to Ballarat and then on the Glenelg Highway to Dunkeld. Located in the main street, Parker Street and Glenelg Highway of the Dunkeld township, on the right hand side travelling west.

Accommodation cancellations with less than 48 hours’ notice forfeit the deposit paid. Accommodation cancellations with more than 48 hours’ notice incur a $30 administration charge per booking. Wickens at Royal Mail Hotel cancellations with less than 48 hours’ notice incur a charge of $145 per person.
